The Inquiry

How do we preserve long-term longevity in our activism without succumbing to systemic burnout? Earthing for Earthlings addresses the urgent reality that direct political action must be balanced by shared practices of rest, interior spaciousness, and ecological interdependence.

How do we preserve long-term longevity in our activism without succumbing to systemic burnout? Direct, urgent political action is necessary, but we also want to be available for the long haul. This project continues my decades-long explorations of rest, interior spaciousness, and ecological interdependence.

I propose Spacemaking as a vital tool for sustainability, asking how we bring more longevity to our collective ecosystems.

Practice-Based Research as a Site of Care

Designed as a highly accessible online restorative lab for humans, pets, and plants to come as they are, this workshop provided practical, soft tools to ground ourselves during times of crisis.

The session blended trauma-responsive somatics, breathwork, embodiment tools with and an ecoacoustic plant meditations (with guests Winfrey and Grace Jones) to guide participants (for postgraduate students, alumni, and university staff) through mapping their local ecologies.

By framing self-care and community care as interdependent, the workshop functioned as an anti-elitist "space to land" equipping changemakers with adaptable strategies to sustain their advocacy over the long haul.
