The Inquiry
This project emerged from my art + embodiment workshops and retreats (including Composers Retreats) from 2010. It evolved into a seasonal series weaving folklore, ritual, and ecoacoustics across locations between Norway and the UK, and eventually became ForRest- a multi-layered body of work spanning socially engaged practice, somatics, movement, ecology, sound, text, and film.
Haugtussa - ForRest + Haugtussa VR (2020-)
Practice-Based Research as a Site of Care
This project emerged from art + embodiment workshops and retreats (including Composers Retreats) from 2020, became seasonal series with folklore and ritual taking place in locations between Norway and the UK as well as spaces in-between, and evolved into a series called ForRest which encompassed socially engaged practice, movement, ecolology, sound, text and film.
ForRest became an installation, a colloaboration with Ketxl, entwining sound, embodiment and Spacemaking, which premiered at Garborgsenteret, Bryne in January 2020 and ran through until the end of March 2020. The installation was an offering to the local community, we co-created many interdisciplinary site-specific interrogations of space with curiosity. You can read + watch + hear more BTS about the Haugtussa installation here.
Work on the VR project began in 2020, and gratefully received funding from the Norwegian Film Institute. A short clip of Ketxl and I speaking about the project for the Nowegian short film festival here.
